Lindsey Wilson College Nursing Students Achieve 100% Pass Rate on National Test

All Class of 2024 nursing graduates pass National Council Licensure Examination.

COLUMBIA, Ky. (04/28/2025) — The Lindsey Wilson College Class of 2024 nursing graduates had a perfect year.

All nursing majors who graduated from Lindsey Wilson's award-winning program in 2024 passed the National Council Licensure Examination, the nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the United States.

Known as NCLEX, the 100% pass rate of the 19 members of the Class of 2024 reflects the strength of Lindsey Wilson's innovative nursing program, according to Lindsey Wilson Director of Nursing Dr. Emiley Button.

"Our exceptional, thorough curriculum -- combined with an outstanding faculty that puts students at the center of their work in great academic facilities and with strong community partnerships -- are why Lindsey Wilson nursing graduates are among the best in Kentucky," said Button.

Lindsey Wilson nursing students receive a head start in the program, thanks to a special three-day academic boot camp that Button and fellow nursing faculty implemented in order to "get them acclimated to the program and be prepared for a good start."

Lindsey Wilson nursing students also spend 135 hours working alongside a nurse while performing the nurse's duties to prepare for real-world practice, and they receive career advice through a special seven-week "Leadership in Nursing" class.

"We want our nursing graduates to have excellent nursing knowledge when they graduate, and we also want them to be prepared to be effective team members in their workplace," said Button.

One of those 2024 Lindsey Wilson nursing graduates who contributed to the 100% NCLEX pass rate was Elizabeth Decker Davis. In addition to a strong curriculum, Davis said Lindsey Wilson's approach to nursing education is a big factor that accounts for students' success.

"Lindsey Wilson's nursing program was truly an amazing experience," said Davis, who works on the pediatric unit at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. "We were a big family. Anytime I needed an instructor, I could call or text, and they would be right there to help me. The instructors pushed and encouraged us to be the best, and it paid off. I believe the program fully prepared me for my career as a nurse."

The 100% NCLEX pass rate is but the latest in a string of good news for Lindsey Wilson's nursing program. Earlier this year, the nursing program received a grant from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund to establish a healthcare training scholarship partnership between the college and T.J. Regional Health of Glasgow.

And Lindsey Wilson's nursing program was named the No. 1 nursing program in Kentucky in 2023 by Nurse.org in the group's inaugural "Top Nursing Schools -- Student Choice Awards" contest. The top programs were determined by votes from nursing students and alumni from around the country.
