Casey County Resident Serves as Lindsey Wilson University Student Teacher
Reagan Black spends spring semester as student teacher at area schools.
Columbia, KY (05/08/2026) — Reagan Black, a middle grades education senior from Liberty, Kentucky, was a student teacher this spring at Russell County Middle School and Casey County Middle School.
Black graduated from Lindsey Wilson on May 2 with a bachelor of arts degree in middle grades education, summa cum laude.
Lindsey Wilson education seniors spend a semester serving as a student teacher at an area school to help them prepare for the profession.
"Student teaching is where our future educators transform knowledge into meaningful practice," said Lindsey Wilson University Director of Education Jennifer Antoniotti-Neal. "The schools and teachers that welcome our students play a vital role in mentoring future teachers. Through these partnerships, our students gain invaluable experience, and our communities benefit from the shared commitment to excellence in education."
For three of the last four years, 100% of Lindsey Wilson graduates passed the Praxis teacher certification exam.
Lindsey Wilson's education program has been nationally recognized for its work to prepare teachers. Recent honors include receiving the 2025 Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, also known as CAEP, which is a national body that accredits educator preparation providers.
