It Will be a Hot Spring for the Lindsey Wilson University Singers

Lindsey Wilson Singers' spring tour to include performances in Miami, Key West and Everglades National Park.

COLUMBIA, Ky. (08/24/2026) — The Lindsey Wilson University Singers won't have to worry about a chilly spring break this school year. That's because their annual spring tour will take them deep into South Florida.

The tour's location was announced at the Singers' annual Opening Night, held Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Doug and Betty Jean Moseley Auditorium of the Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship.

Following a dinner of homemade empanadas, Director of Choral Activities Jennifer Bersaglia told the choral group of nearly three dozen students that their spring break tour in March 2027 will include stops in Miami, Key West and Everglades National Park.

"It's going to be epic," said Bersaglia, in a room decorated with vibrant coral colors and enough inflatable and other decorative pink flamingos to rival the most kitschy suburban front yard.

The inspiration of the Lindsey Wilson Singers' 2026-27 choral program will come from the heavens as it will have a theme of celestial wonders. Bersaglia said the musical lineup will be a constellation of choral music informed by the stars, the heavens, the aurora borealis and "just the wonder these things inspire in us."

If all goes well on their spring tour, she said the Singers will get to perform the program in a dark sky site in Everglades National Park that is free from artificial light. They will also perform the program at Lindsey Wilson in the spring.

'An elite group'

Nearly half of the members on this year's Singers' roster is composed of new members, as the choral group graduated 14 seniors in 2025-26. Bersaglia told the newcomers that they were now part of "an elite group" at the university.

"This is the best thing for you in the world to transition into the college experience because you already have 34 best friends," she said. "This is going to ground you and help you launch into your freshman year."

As a reminder of the Singers' reach across generations of Lindsey Wilson students, several alumni attended Opening Night.

"Lindsey Wilson Singers is so special because it keeps going on even after you graduate," said Bersaglia. "Our alumni connections are really important. You are going to network with them while you are students, and you will learn that alumni love us and they support us."

The Lindsey Wilson Singers is also grounded in service and leadership. Although the group has a corps of leaders, Bersaglia told the members that "everyone serves and everyone leads."

"You are serving but you are also always leading," she said. "We travel big, we serve big and we are big into being ambassadors for our school."

The leadership team for the 2026-27 Lindsey Wilson Singers includes: graduate student Zoe Boatright of Columbia; Gabe Coleman '30 of Columbia; Sarai Collins '28 of Columbia; Madeline Hardwick '27 of Columbia; Cade Ramsey '27 of Russell Springs, Kentucky; and Natalie Stearns '28 of Columbia.
