LWU one of only two schools in the nation that will be represented in all five NAIA National Championships from the 2025 fall season.
COLUMBIA, Ky. (11/18/2025) — Autumn is lingering for Lindsey Wilson University's fall athletics teams, and that's just fine with Lindsey Wilson Athletic Director Willis Pooler.
Lindsey Wilson is one of only two schools in the nation that will be represented in all five NAIA National Championships from the 2025 fall season -- cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
The Blue Raiders' NAIA postseason competition will get underway on Friday, Nov. 21. Some of the contests will be held on campus, while other events will take place from near the Lake Michigan coastline to central Florida.
"This impressive achievement is a reflection of the strong commitment of our student-athletes and coaches to win contests at the highest level of NAIA athletics," said Pooler. "We are fortunate to have so many talented people representing our university. I'm looking forward to following each team and individual as they compete for national titles."
LWU's first NAIA postseason event will take place on Friday, Nov. 21, in Tallahassee, Florida. That's when LWU freshman Dashawn Overly of Maysville, Kentucky, will compete in the 70th annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships at Apalachee Regional Park. Overly, a Mason County High School graduate, finished in 11th place at the Mid-South Conference Championship with a time of 26 minutes, 42.76 seconds in the 8,000-meter race, held Nov. 7 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The No. 6-ranked men's soccer team, who has an overall record of 12-3-1, will host the first and second rounds of the 2025 Men's Soccer National Tournament at Parnell Family Stadium. Harris-Stowe State (Missouri) University will play Ottawa (Kansas) University at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 20. LWU will play that game's winner at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 22. It's the 32nd time the Blue Raiders have played in the national tournament, which features 40 teams this year.
The LWU women's soccer team is one of the 40 teams that will compete in the 2025 Women's Soccer National Tournament. The Blue Raiders, who are ranked No. 19 in the NAIA with an overall record of 9-5-2, will play No. 15-ranked Southeastern (Florida) University at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Lakeland, Florida. It's the 25th time the Blue Raiders have appeared in the national tournament.
The LWU women's volleyball team will return to the NAIA National Tournament for the second consecutive year and 13th time in program history with an at-large bid into the 48-team field. The Blue Raiders, who have an overall record of 29-10, will play No. 21-ranked Aquinas (Michigan) College at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The LWU football team, who won the Mid-South Conference championship and has an overall record of 9-1, is the No. 7 seed in the 20-team NAIA Football Championship Series. The Blue Raiders earned a bye into the second round, which will be played at noon CT on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Parnell Family Stadium. It's the ninth time the Blue Raiders have appeared in the NAIA postseason.
