Lindsey Wilson University Nursing Program Named One of Best in Kentucky
RegisteredNursing ranks Lindsey Wilson nursing in top five of 'Best RN Program Rankings.'
COLUMBIA, Ky. (11/04/2026) — Lindsey Wilson University's nursing program has been recognized as one of the best in Kentucky.
In the annual list of "Best RN Program Rankings" compiled by RegisteredNursing, Lindsey Wilson's nursing program was ranked No. 5 among Kentucky's nursing programs.
For more than a decade, RegisteredNursing has recognized outstanding nursing programs nationwide, highlighting institutions dedicated to quality nursing education and preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Its rankings are based on first-time National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses pass rates and the program's net price. Students in Lindsey Wilson's 2024 and 2025 nursing classes both posted a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
"This is another wonderful affirmation of our nursing program," said Lindsey Wilson Director of Nursing Dr. Emiley Button. "It's very humbling whenever an outside organization such as RegisteredNursing names our nursing program one of the best in Kentucky, but it's also an important confirmation that Lindsey Wilson has one of the best nursing programs in Kentucky."
It's been a busy fall semester for Lindsey Wilson's nursing program. In early October, the nursing program welcomed a record 32 students into its latest cohort at the annual white coat ceremony. Lindsey Wilson has a record 72 students in its nursing program.
And Button expects more large nursing classes, especially because of the growing popularity of the university's nursing preview days. The next one is scheduled for Nov. 13.
Two big reasons for the success and growing popularity of the Lindsey Wilson nursing program are excellent classroom and laboratory spaces, as well as a faculty that carries out the university's mission.
"Our faculty live the Lindsey Wilson mission by focusing on the success of 'every student, everyday day' in everything they do," said Button. "They provide our students a lot of one-on-one attention, which is not something nursing students receive at bigger programs."
Lindsey Wilson's nursing seniors also play a part in students' success. Through a mentor program with underclassmen, seniors are part of a support system that helps the program's sophomores through tutoring and group meetings.
"The seniors have been there, so they can tell the other students what's coming down the road," said Button. "Since we implemented the program, it's received great feedback from our students."
