Lindsey Wilson College Director of Student Financial Aid Audrey Price Elected President of Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators

'I want to help students and families navigate what often seem like confusing rules and regulations.'

COLUMBIA, Ky. (04/23/2025) — Audrey Price likes to tell people that no one majors in financial aid in college.

But she says that a lot of people wind up spending their careers in financial aid because of a desire to help students and families afford a college education.

Beginning July 1, Price will have a bigger stage to help Kentucky college students and their families when she begins her term as president of the Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

Price, who is Lindsey Wilson College director of financial aid, will be president-elect of the statewide organization in 2025-26, then she will serve as its president in 2026-27. Price is the first Lindsey Wilson employee to be elected president of the state association, which was founded nearly 60 years ago and now has about 380 members. Price has most recently served in an outreach position with the volunteer organization.

"I'm involved with KASFAA because the world of financial aid is in constant change, and I want to help students and families navigate what often seem like confusing rules and regulations," said Price, who has served at Lindsey Wilson for nearly three years and has worked in higher education for almost 15 years

During a time of uncertainty for higher education, Price said it's especially important for the financial aid officers of Kentucky's colleges and universities to work together. Collectively, they help oversee and administer about $370 million of state-funded financial aid that is awarded annually to Kentucky college students and families.

"Like I've said, no one goes to college to be a financial aid administrator, but it's important that we have a support system for one another because a strong support system will help all of us better serve students," she said.
