Lindsey Wilson University Athletics Wall of Fame Spotlights Blue Raiders' Successes

Digital, interactive screen showcases championships, legendary players and coaches 'without limitations.'

COLUMBIA, Ky. (09/12/2025) — If you want to see why Lindsey Wilson University athletics has become one of Kentucky's most successful intercollegiate athletics programs in the last 30 years, check out the Lindsey Wilson Wall of Fame -- the new digital wall in the university's Cralle Student Union Building.

The wall -- which features a 65-inch interactive, touch video screen -- became live on Thursday, Sept. 11. It allows visitors to explore the Blue Raiders' 20 team national titles, more than 100 individual national titles and nearly six dozen members of the Lindsey Wilson Athletics Hall of Fame.

Lindsey Wilson Athletic Director Willis Pooler '93 said the idea for the digital wall "had been something we've been talking about for several years."

As Pooler noted, the digital Wall of Fame "gives the user so much more access to our programs' rich heritage."

One of the biggest inspirations for the digital wall was the growing Lindsey Wilson Athletics Hall of Fame. Since it inducted its first four members in 2001, the Hall of Fame has swelled to 62 members -- with eight new members set to be inducted on Saturday, Sept. 13. The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. in the university's Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.

University officials decided to remove the Hall of Fame plaques crowding one of the Cralle SUB walls and rename the space the Lindsey Wilson Wall of Fame. The wall's new background is a collage of photographs of Blue Raider championships, highlights and legends, designed by Lindsey Wilson Associate Sports Information Director Joel Synder.

"The Wall of Fame allows us to honor the very best Lindsey Wilson student-athletes, coaches and administrators without limitations," said Associate Athletics Director Chris Wells '01. "The touch screen enables endless media, including photos and videos, that highlight the incredible accomplishments of our Hall of Famers, national and conference players of the year, and team and individual national champions."

The 1971-72 LWU men's basketball team won the school's first national title when they claimed the National Little College Athletic Association championship. Nearly two dozen years later, the Blue Raiders won their first four-year national championship when the men's soccer team was crowned 1995 NAIA national champions. Lindsey Wilson's most recent national title came last May when the men's golf team captured the NAIA national title.
