Lindsey Wilson University Department of Theatre to Present 'A Holiday Cabaret'
Christmas musical review will be presented Dec. 4-5, Dec. 7 at V.P. Henry Auditorium; Lindsey Wilson Band to perform Dec. 7 at Columbia United Methodist Church.
COLUMBIA, Ky. (11/25/2025) — A Christmas classic will return to Lindsey Wilson University during the first week of December.
A Holiday Cabaret will be performed Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 7 at V.P. Henry Auditorium. The 90-minute musical review will feature songs and music of the holiday season that "are guaranteed to get audience members in the Christmas spirit," said Lindsey Wilson theatre professor Robert Brock, who is the show's production manager.
A Holiday Cabaret, which will feature performances by Lindsey Wilson students and staff, will be directed by graduate assistant Kassidy Phelps '24.
Admission to the production is a can or a box of non-perishable food. Cash donations will also be accepted.
The Lindsey Wilson Department of Theatre has produced about a half-dozen Christmas programs over the last 15 years, and Brock said it was time for the popular offering to return to the stage.
"I feel like a theatre should celebrate the Christmas season, so we decided to revive A Holiday Cabaret," said Brock. "It always received such a positive response from the audience."
Phelps said the musical review will include solo and group performances of classic Christmas songs and carols.
"It will feature all kinds of musical compositions -- some will be very familiar to audience members and others might be new," said Pehlps. "It will be a very festive evening."
Also on Dec. 7, the Lindsey Wilson University Band, under the direction of music professor Robert Palmer, will give a free concert at Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville St. The 40-minute concert will feature a mix of holiday and traditional concert pieces.
The Lindsey Wilson University Department of Theatre will present "A Holiday Cabaret" at 7 p.m. CT on Dec. 4-5 and at 2 p.m. CT on Dec. 7 at V.P. Henry Auditorium.
