Lindsey Wilson University School of Graduate Business & Technology to Showcase Student Work

Inaugural student showcase to be held Dec. 13 during winter commencement weekend.

COLUMBIA, Ky. (11/07/2025) — Lindsey Wilson University's winter commencement on Dec. 12-13 will feature a new event this year.

The LWU School of Graduate Business & Technology will hold its inaugural student showcase from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Robert D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. Lindsey Wilson will hold three winter commencement ceremonies Dec. 12-13 in Biggers Sports Center.

The showcase will feature poster displays of work by LWU graduate students in the university's master of business administration, master of science in cybersecurity management, master of science in data science master of science in technology management programs. Awards will be presented to the top three projects.

The event was created to give LWU students in the School of Graduate Business & Technology an opportunity to showcase their work. Because of the university's academic calendar, those graduate students often do not have a chance to participate during the university's Honors Week in the spring, according to School of Graduate Business & Technology Dean Helen MacLennan.

"We have some very talented and creative graduate students, and because many of them graduate in December and are working adults who cannot be on campus in April for Honors Week, we decided to introduce this event to our winter commencement weekend," said MacLennan.

Because the LWU School of Graduate Business & Technology's programs focus on helping students develop skills for fields that are in high demand, MacLennan said the projects that will be on display at the inaugural student showcase on Dec. 13 will be interesting not only to academic audiences but to the general public as well.

"One of our programs' strengths is that it is project-based," said MacLennan. "This gives our students experiences that are more similar to what they deal with in their jobs. That gives them an added professional advantage because they can bring some of the challenges they face in the workplace into our classes and take what they learn in our classes and apply it to their work."
