Lindsey Wilson University Theatre Department Announces Cast for 'Anne of Green Gables: The Musical'
Musical adaptation of classic 1908 children's novel to be presented Nov. 3-7 for area schoolchildren, Nov. 6-7 for the public.
COLUMBIA, Ky. (10/09/2025) — The Lindsey Wilson University Department of Theatre is gearing up to bring one of the famous stories from the rural Canadian province of Prince Edward Island to the stage, and the cast has been set.
Lindsey Wilson Theatre will present Anne of Green Gables: The Musical Nov. 3-7 for area schoolchildren and Nov. 6-7 for the public. All performances will be in V.P. Henry Auditorium.
The cast includes:
* Reilly Wells '26 of Columbia, a media studies and theatre arts double major, in the lead role of Anne Shirley;
* LeBron Barroso '29 of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, a theatre arts major, has been cast in the roles of Moody Spurgeon, the Minister and the Doctor;
* Zoe Boatright of Columbia, a graduate student in business administration, has been cast in the role of Mrs. Spencer; and
* Mayatu Brown '27 of Campbellsville, Kentucky, a theatre arts major, has been cast in the role of Rachel Lynde;
* Gage Carnes '26 of Jamestown, Kentucky, an arts administration major, has been cast in the role of Matthew Cuthbert;
* Gabriella Devore '26 of Knob Lick, Kentucky, a human services and counseling major, has been cast in the role of Marilla Cuthbert;
* Brandon Grider '28 of Columbia, an arts administration and theatre arts double major, has been cast in the roles of Mr. Philips and the Stationmaster;
* Leeshawn Johnson '27 of Louisville, Kentucky, a theatre arts major, has been cast in the role of Gilbert Blythe;
* Shiane Lussier '26 of Bremen, Kentucky, an arts administration and theatre arts double major, has been cast in the roles of Josie Pye and the Shop Girl;
* McKenzie Melton '29 of Lily, Kentucky, an English and psychology double major, has been cast in the roles of Mrs. Blewett and Mrs. Barry;
* Cade Ramsey '27 of Russell Springs, Kentucky, a history and social studies education major, has been cast in the role of Charlie Sloan.
* Sabrina Ruiz '26 of Louisville, Kentucky, an arts administration and theatre arts double major, has been cast in the role of Diana Barry;
* Nellie Leona Smith '28 of Coxs Creek, Kentucky, an English education major, has been cast in the role of Jane Andrews; and
* Aidyn Weingartner '28 of Shelbyville, Kentucky, a business administration major, has been cast in the role of Minnie Mae Barry;
The musical is an adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic 1908 children's novel, Anne of Green Gables, which tells the story of 11-year-old orphan Anne Shirley who is mistakenly sent to help on a farm. The story is set in the late-1800's in a fictional town in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
The Lindsey Wilson production of the musical adaptation is directed by graduate assistant Kassidy Phelps '24 of Burkesville, Kentucky.
