Lindsey Wilson University to Celebrate Family Weekend Sept. 12-13

Families encouraged to explore and discover businesses and activities in Columbia-Adair County.

COLUMBIA, Ky. (09/08/2025) — This year's Lindsey Wilson University Family Weekend will be a celebration of the community as well as the university.

During Lindsey Wilson's 2025 Family Weekend, which will be Sept. 12-13, campus visitors are encouraged to enjoy the weekend in Columbia-Adair County as much as they do on campus.

"We want our campus visitors to celebrate the weekend with their students on campus as well as out in our surrounding community," said Lindsey Wilson Director of Student Activities Stephanie Blackwood. "Lindsey Wilson enjoys great support from the local community, and we want our campus guests to discover the many great businesses and things to do right here in Columbia-Adair County."

Family Weekend will get underway right after the conclusion of Lindsey Wilson University Week, a five-day celebration of the university from Sept. 8-12 by the Columbia-Adair County governments.

Family Weekend's highlight on campus will be a concert by the Green River Band. The concert -- which is free and open to the public -- will be from 8-10 p.m. CT Friday, Sept. 12, on The Quad.

Also on Sept. 12, the women's and men's Blue Raider soccer teams will play an evening doubleheader at Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The women's soccer team will play Grace (Indiana) College at 5 p.m. CT, followed by the men's match against Marian (Indiana) University, which is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Events on Saturday, Sept. 13, include the Lindsey Wilson football game against St. Thomas (Florida) University at 3 p.m. at Parnell Family Stadium; then a "Paint and Sip" will be held at 7 p.m. CT in the Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship, where participants will sip mocktails and create original works of art.

"Although it's been only a few weeks since we started the school year, our students' family members always enjoy this weekend because they can check in on their students and make sure they are off to a good start," said Blackwood. "It's also a perfect weekend to explore the many great things Columbia-Adair County offers our students."
